Columbus Welcome Management Budapest
Company Profile
Columbus Welcome Management Budapest was established in 1996, originally named Welcome Touristic Budapest, to provide land services for international tourist groups visiting Hungary. In 2010 the company went through a rebranding process, keeping all of its original functions but changing its name to Columbus Welcome Management, to better reflect what has become its bread and butter during the years: the provision of land services to meetings, incentive groups and conferences.
Due to our special relationship with the Dr. Richard Group, one of Europe’s few remaining historic family enterprises based in Austria, we feel at home throughout the European Union, where our parent company commands a fleet of 700 coaches, 35 subsidiary offices and three other destination management companies seated in Vienna, Salzburg and Prague.
Our Budapest team consists of 9 full-time employees – with experience from 2 to 27 years in the travel business and in corporate event management. This well-educated staff guarantees sophisticated service. Each of them speaks at least two languages, which facilitates smooth communication with our mainly German, British, American, Italian, French and Russian clients. The well-planned, exquisite programs and their impeccable, flexible operation are the strengths of our firm.
Incentive Programs
Columbus Welcome Management Budapest designs and executes high-level incentive programs for a number of well-known companies every year. The ingredients of success are creativity, devotion to minute detail in execution, and most important of all: understanding and then focussing on our clients’ needs.

Land Services and Danube Cruises
Our Cruise Management Department offers professional ground handling for Danube cruise boats all along the river in Hungary (Budapest is the terminus or the starting point of many Danube river cruise itineraries) and in neighboring countries. In addition to providing the necessary logistics, meet&greet services, pre- and post tours or exclusive sightseeing programs, we also run a 24-hour telephone support service to help with medical or other emergencies.
Hungary is located at the center of Europe, bordering on seven countries. Since her succession into the European Union in 2004, visitors can freely flow into neighboring Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania without border checks. Although part of the EU, Hungary still retains its national currency, the FORINT, resulting in very favorable prices for accommodation, food and wine, transportation and other services.

The capital, Budapest, is one of the largest metropolitan centers of the area with a population of 2 million people. It is a 2000 years old settlement bisected by the majestic Danube River and an incredibly scenic city whose sweeping views are crowned by her 8 glorius bridges. The architecutre is a late 19th century medley of Baroque, Art Nouveau and Neo-Renaissance. Buda, the old and historic part of the city lies on the west bank; Pest, the pulsing downtown area and a major port on the river, on the east bank. The city is blessed with abundant thermal springs that gush forth in dozens of baths and curative spas; a thriving cultural life accented by music; hundreds of first class restaurants, gambling casinos and jazz clubs.
