Canakkale The Dardanelles is a 61km (28 mile) strait between Europe and Asiatic Turkey. The maximum width is 7km and in the area known as the Narrows, the distance is no more than 1,600 meters. The Dardanelles Straits are overlooked by high cliffs on the Gallipoli Peninsula.
Here is the border-line where west and east often in history have clashed despite the efforts of the swift-running waters of the Hellespont to keep them apart. For the Black Sea, fed by the great rivers of Russia, continuously empties into the Mediterranean and in ‘ Narrows’ towards the south of the Dardanelles, produces a current almost insurmountable by sail from the south. To this fact Troy, in all probability, owes its origin.

It is one of the most picturesque sites in Turkey. Although Bodrum was home to the “Father of History”- Herotodus, and to one of the Seven Wonders of the World- the Mausoleum, which has largely disappeared, today Bodrum is hardly all tranquillity, quiet, and picturesque views.
There is a vibrant, colourful nightlife scene, with famous late-night discos and bars making Bodrum a prime vacation destination on the South Aegean. So whether you want to relax or just let loose, Bodrum is a fantastic place to enjoy a little sun, a little fun, maybe some dancing, and probably a lot of wine, all in a stunning setting on the light-blue Aegean, and all imbued with that certain Turkish charm.cultural endowments and its highly attractive bohemian way of life. Yachts, and during the summer months this town of 18,000 may swell to over 200,000. The spectacular natural harbor sometimes seems faded in comparison to the rapid development that has occurred in the past several years, but Marmaris holds Turkey’s largest and most efficient yacht marina, so development here, of course, was inevitable. You will certainly enjoy the view as you cruise in and out if this departure point for the “Blue Voyages”, and if you’re looking for a fun night out, you’ll be sure to find plenty of places happy to serve you an assortment of beverages in Marmaris’ raucous bar district.
